COLLEGE COMMITTEES & CELL

The College Academic Committee (CAC) shall have a minimum of seven members, including the Chairman. All other members will be nominated by the Chairman. The constitution of the CAC will be as follows:

  1. Principal of the College - Chairman
  2. All Heads of the departments - Members
  3. Two other senior faculty members of the College-Members
  4. Officer-In-Charge Examination Branch - Member
The College Academic Committee meeting shall be convened not less than four times a year and the interval between two consecutive meetings should not be more than three months.
Quorum: The quorum for the meeting shall be 40% of the total members
Functions: The Governing Body besides being the supreme administrative authority of the College shall have the following additional functions:
  • To monitor the academic and other related activities of the College.
  • To consider the recommendations of the Staff Selection Committee.
  • To consider the important communications, policy decisions received from the University, Government, AICTE/PCI, etc., from time to time.
  • To monitor the students’ Performance and faculty development programs.
  • To pass the annual budget of the College (including clearance of all University dues).
  • To check the audited income and expenditure accounts and approve the same for the College annually.
  • To approve the increase/reduction of intake, courses, new and closure Approval of performance appraisal of faculty
  • To monitor and advice for Industry Institute Interactions
  • To monitor the steps taken for Students’ Training and Placement Activities Any other relevant matter.

Training & Placement Cell

  • Responsible for all the activities relating to the students placement.
  • Coordinates with the industries for providing the vocational training courses to students.
  • Arranges guest lectures, workshops, seminars, industrial visits & educational tours for students.
  • Coordinates with the different industries for on-campus and off-campus interviews of the meritorious students for providing suitable jobs in their organizations. Responsible for interaction with different industries for functioning of EDPs.
  • Responsible for organizing campus placement drives and off – campus interviews.

Anti Ragging Committee and discipline committee

  • To look into various aspects of ragging, means and methods to prevent it, possible action that can be taken against those who involve in it, and action against offenders in the event of ragging
  • To oversee and monitor the overall discipline of students in the college, and review it periodically.
  • To take decisions and actions related to indiscipline activities of the students in the College as and when required.

Role and Responsibilities of Library Committee

  • To purchase the books and magazines periodically to fulfill the requirements of University.
  • To meet regularly, to discuss about further developments in the library.
  • To solve the issues and problems raised by the students and staff members.

Role and Responsibilities of college website and internet committee

  • To maintain and update the contents in the college website periodically.
  • To promote news, events related to college in the website regularly.

Role and Responsibilities of College Sports committee

  • To promote and develop sports activities in the college among students and staff members.
  • To organize Intra College and inter college sports events in the college.
  • To accompany with students for sports events to be organized in other colleges.

Malpractice Prevention Committee

A malpractice Prevention Committee shall be constituted to examine and punish the students who indulge in malpractice/ behave in a undisciplined way in examinations. Members of the Committee. The committee shall consist of :-

Principal

  • Head of the Department of concerned subject paper, faculty of the concerned subject
  • Head of the department of the concerned discipline to which the student belongs
  • Faculty In-charge Examination branch of the College

Roles responsibilities of Boys Hostel Committees

  • To make frequent visits to monitor the regular activities of the boys hostel.
  • To conduct periodical meetings with student representatives to redress their Grievances.

Roles and responsibilities of Girls Hostel Committees

  • To make frequent visits to monitor the regular activities of the girls hostel.
  • To conduct periodical meetings with student representatives to redress their grievances.

Roles and Responsibilities of Transport Committees

  • To regulate the transit of buses in different routes.
  • To regulate the drivers in different bus routes.
  • To monitor discipline among the students inside the bus. Also, to monitor the crowd in each bus.
  • To monitor maintenance of the buses as well as to do works related to RTO office

Roles and responsibilities of Time Table committee

  • To coordinate the time table preparation for each department by respective HODs in every semester.
  • To prepare master time table of the college during every semester.

Eco Club committee

  • Maintenance of students places like parks, gardens both within and outside the college campus.
  • Mobilise action against environmentally unsound practices like garbage disposal inØ unauthorised places, unsafe disposal of hospital wastes etc.
  • Action based activities like tree plantation, cleanliness drives both within and outside the school campus.

Equal opportunity Cell

  • Examine all possible ways in which the SC/ ST, OBC and minority groups could be helped.
  • Ensure that there is no discrimination in the University on grounds of disability or minority status.
  • Ensure a barrier free access to all buildings of Colleges, Departments, Libraries, Hostels and Office.

Student Welfare Committee

  • Arrangement of facilities for educational tours and excursions and participation in Co-curricular and sports activities outside the Institute;
  • Organisation of social and cultural activities with student participation;
  • Organisation of student bodies in the Institute and their functioning;
  • Student-teacher / non-teaching staff relationship;
